Come join us for a fundraiser to support Paul’s Peeps Closer To Free Ride to benefit Smilow Cancer Hospital!Paul Russell, our father, husband, uncle, and friend has been battling two types of cancer for the past two and a half years.
In 2024, while working as the Naugatuck Fire Chief, Paul was diagnosed with stage 3 non-hodgkin's lymphoma. In 2025, he was diagnosed with a separate and unrelated form of cancer, stage 3 multiple myeloma. Although neither cancer currently has a cure, Paul has gone through a variety of treatments including many rounds of immunotherapies, chemotherapies, a clinical trial, and in February a stem cell transplant.
Paul has been treated at the Smilow Cancer Hospitals in Waterbury, New Haven, and currently North Haven. He saw first hand the wonderful care and compassion shown by all of the doctors, nurses, and support staff at Smilow.
"Paul's Peeps" will be riding in the Closer to Free Ride this September in support of Smilow Cancer Hospital. 100% of the funds raised go to cancer research and patient care, directly helping people like our dad, husband, uncle, and friend, Paul.
Burgers, hot dogs, pulled pork, chicken, side salads, beer and wine!! Raffles and lots of prizes!!
$40 a ticket, any donations are welcome!
