About this Event
In this fun and creative two-day workshop, you can immerse yourself in the art of screen printing on fabric! Whether you come with a friend or simply treat yourself to a creative weekend, this workshop offers a welcoming space to experiment with color, pattern, and textile design.
Participants will spend the weekend learning the fundamentals of pattern design and repeat, along with the basics of screen printing on textiles. Through playful experimentation with color mixing, layering, and composition, we’ll explore how movement and depth can emerge within patterned designs.
Saturday (10am-4pm) will focus on exploring pattern ideas, color combinations, and printing techniques as you experiment with layouts and layered designs. On Sunday (10am-3pm), participants will use what they’ve learned to complete a coordinated set of hand-printed table linens.
By the end of the workshop, each participant will have printed four linen placemats and four napkins, creating a one-of-a-kind set ready for gatherings, celebrations, or everyday use. Along the way, you’ll develop original pattern designs and gain the knowledge and confidence to continue printing on textiles at home.
No prior experience is necessary, but participants must be able to use an X-Acto knife to cut shapes from acetate, pull a squeegee by hand, and stand for several hours while printing.
