Learning how to improve the fit of your handmade garments can seem bewildering but this workshop aims to give you the tools and techniques to do just that.What you will learn:
You will firstly learn how to make some of the most common pattern alterations including
Full/small bust adjustment
Correcting gaping necklines
Narrow shoulder adjustment
Moving the bust point
Then, using your prepared toile, you will learn how to analyse and spot fitting problems as well as learning how to correct, pin and transfer the changes onto your paper pattern.
What you will need:
Preprepared toile and the paper pattern of your chosen garment ask us for advise if you are unsure.
Pattern master and set square (if you have them)
Pencil, rular, rubber, marker pen
Pins
Seam ripper
Spare fabric
Tape measure
Level: You will need to have made garments before and have an understanding of dressmaking patterns
Duration: 10 - 4pm including a 30 minute lunch break
