This workshop is an invitation to let go—without losing control.Many people with architectural, technical, or detail-driven backgrounds draw well but hesitate when watercolor starts to move on its own. In this class, I’ll show you how to embrace watercolor’s natural behavior—allowing paint to run, bleed, splatter, and soften—while trusting that your underlying drawing will hold everything together.
A major focus will be intentional color mixing. You’ll learn how to mix strong, believable patriotic colors and supporting neutrals, rather than relying on premixed paint straight from the tube. Understanding color relationships is what gives you the confidence to loosen up without fear.
Instead of chasing a perfect painting, we'll focus on unlocking watercolor, learning how to mix color with intention, let paint run and bleed on purpose, and trust that your drawing will survive it. You'll leave energized, informed, and ready to paint differently.
This workshop is ideal for anyone who draws comfortably but wants to relax their grip, trust the process, and let watercolor do what it does.
