Patrick and Kate will be talking about his new novel, Love Lane, a story of marriage, homemaking, honesty and secrets which features Harry Cane, the hero of his runaway bestseller, A Place Called Winter. Their talk is bound to be wide ranging but will touch on the joys and difficulties of unearthing family secrets in fiction and the challenge of writing historical fiction so that it feels fresh and not heavily researched. St Peter and St Mary's Church, Fishbourne. Tickets cost £35 for the entire day. Church doors open at 9 and Patrick and Kate will be speaking at 10. This festival is hugely popular and usually sells out rapidly, so don't dither!
