We'll play Beethoven's masterpiece Pathétique Sonata in a lush orchestral reimagining, bringing new colours to one of the most famous works of the repertoire. Soprano Kripa Nageshwar will sing Toronto composer Colin Eatock's song cycle inspired by poems from Bengali poet Rabindranath Tagore's Gitanjali, the collection that won him the Nobel Prize for Literature. Young violin virtuoso Evan Pyne dazzle in a breathtaking Saint-Saëns showpiece. Evan is the Concerto Competition winner of the 2024 Unionville Music Competition.
Nurhan Arman will conduct a program that spans centuries and continents, blending classics with evocative new works. And an extra treat - artist Tamara Harutyunyan's live painting on stage, translating orchestral colour onto her canvas.
