Pat McManus is among Ireland's rock royalty. Most would put Pat in the top 3 along with Rory Gallagher and Gary Moore. Pat is a six-string wonder who plays with a passionate flourish whose flying fingers draw pure emotion from every note.The Derrylin man first grew to prominence when he and his two brothers formed Mama’s Boys, and quickly wowed audience across the UK, Ireland, Europe and the US.
Pat is also a precocious talent on the fiddle, Pat made his television début aged just seven, and was All-Ireland fiddle champion at 14.
He and his brothers Tommy and John began their career touring and self-released their first album ‘The Official Bootleg’. It was so successful that there were multiple re-pressings that quickly attracted major label interest especially once they heard their second self-financed album ‘Plug It In’.
Mama’s Boys cover of Slade’s ‘Mama We’re All Crazy Now’ brought them to the attention across the Atlantic, where radio stations put it on playlists across the US.
The band appeared at massive festivals across the world, including Thin Lizzy’s last ever show at Reading Festival and Deep Purple in front of 100,000 at Knebworth.
They played across the USA with bands such as Rush and Ratt, earning rave reviews and Pat’s playing leaving seasoned guitarists open-mouthed in admiration.
The Stonecold Hobos are a rocking rhythm and blues band known for their high-energy live performances, blending original material with re-imagined blues classics. They have a strong following on the Irish festival circuit and have received national and international radio play. Every gig they play in The Barrel is a barnstormer. The most memorable gig when the venue reopened after Covid was from the guys and when they were most fans fave on the night when they supported Sons of Cream last year. Very high praise indeed.
