A day long workshop, 10-4 with artist Paul Holmes. Price £75This will be a tutor lead workshop using pastel on velour paper.
You will practice blending and layering pastel to complete a highland cow portrait.
No drawing skills are required.
All equipment will be provided.
Please bring an A3 plus size folder, to carry work home.
Please bring an old shirt or apron, to protect clothes.
Course is suitable for beginners and improvers.
There will be a 30 minute break for lunch and the museum cafe will be open.
About Paul
Originally from Staffordshire and now living in the Welsh Marches, Paul works in a variety of media:- pencil and coloured pencil, pen and ink, water colour, acrylic, pastel and oil pastel.
A number of years ago Paul attended a pastel workshop, after that he was hooked and pastel is now his medium of choice. The variety of the effects possible with pastel together which range of surfaces and colours available means that there is always something new to learn and experiment with.
Paul is also a qualified tutor who is happy to pass on his knowledge and enthusiasm for art to others in workshops and residential courses at Higham Hall in the Lake District, and other local venues.
Paul is a keen enthusiast of domestic animals, wildlife and the natural world.
His work is now winning awards and in galleries in England and Wales, with work in homes across the UK and Europe.
He has now achieved his lifelong dream of being a full-time artist.
