Join Marco to learn how to make delicious fresh pasta from scratch. Marco will share with you how he learnt how to make simple fresh pasta, just how his nonna taught him. You'll get hands on experience making your very own fresh pasta and learn how to adjust your recipe for different dietary requirements. If the weather is fine, we'll eat pasta together with a simple sauce in the lush Perth City Farm garden afterwards! Marco comes from Abruzzo, in central Italy. He brings with him the passion and love for his heritage food. He loved watching his nonna making pasta for the whole family and sharing the meal all together. He is very enthusiastic and he’s looking forward to welcome people and share his skills. On this session we will explore a few types of pasta and a traditional tomato sauce, what in Italy is called ’Sugo' starting from the famous ’soffritto’.”
We love hands on learning! Wear comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting flour on and closed in shoes as you'll be in the kitchen.
Our weekly farmer's market will be in full swing during your workshop, so it's worth arriving a little early to check out the stalls and maybe buy some fresh produce.
Perth City Farm is a community urban farm that supports connected, sustainable communities. Established on a former industrial site in East Perth, this polluted site has been lovingly rehabilitated by volunteers to become a Western Australian icon for environmental sustainability and community engagement. We provide space and opportunities to build community connections, and educate and enable people to live sustainably.
