About this Event
Experience the Seder that marks the beginning of Passover. Pastor Holland and his wife, Roxie, will host this educational dinner. Enjoy beautiful symbolism and sensory experience of foods and herbs to recount this miraculous story. Pastor Holland will be dressed in authentic rabbi attire, and all young and adult men will be encouraged to wear a Jarmu*ka (Yiddish for “cap”, aka ‘Yamaka”, which will be provided) during the event.
This is an event for all ages, including families and couples, which will explain of the significance of Passover, not just for Jews, but for Christians as well.
Did you know?
The Last Supper with Jesus Christ was a Passover Seder meal. Knowing the order and structure of this biblical celebration will also help us better understand why Jesus chose the elements of this meal to convey to His disciples the meaning behind His redemptive work on the cross.
What is the Seder?
The Seder is a retelling of the story of the Israelites’ deliverance from slavery in Egypt, taken from the Book of Exodus in the Torah. The Seder itself is based on the Biblical verse commanding Jews to retell the story of the Exodus from Egypt: "You shall tell your child on that day, saying, 'It is because of what the LORD did for me when I came out of Egypt.'" Passover Seder Feast is conducted throughout the world at the start of the 15th day of Nisan in the Hebrew calendar and may be celebrated one or two nights. The symbolism of Passover points to the reality of what Jesus did for all people when He died on the
cross.
