PARVA is about human struggles in obliging ourselves even as we are conflicted by our duties to the world we inhabit – to family and friends, to rulers and the ruled. PARVA is Bhyrappa’s interpretation of The Mahabharata, without miracle or divine intervention, as timeless as the epic and always urgent, here and now.
PARVA, brings to you this literary classic, with a brilliant stage adaption, passionate acting, live music and creative production design. The original 8-hour performance in Kannada (also adapted and directed by Prakash Belawadi for Mysore Rangayana), did a total of 57 shows, with audiences standing up to applaud for 15 minutes after each performance.
The first run of this play by our troupe (Centre for Film and Drama) in May 2025, and again in July 2025 saw houseful shows, overwhelming standing ovations, elated, emotional reviews. Come, experience it.
