Come and join our Party for the Planet on Saturday, May 4th! We've got a lot going on and you won't want to miss it! We will be giving away American Hazelnut and White Swamp Oak saplings for you to take home and plant while supplies last. Tree Climb 10am - 2pm
Thanks to our friends at the Dane County Regional Arborists Group, we will once again be offering our popular tree climbing activity. Volunteers will help kids climb up in to some of the mature oak trees on Zoo grounds. Wheelchair harnesses will be available. The staging area for the tree climb will be between our North American porcupine exhibit and the main tent in the center of the Zoo.
Story Time with Henry the Lion 10:30am - 12:30pm
Story time is geared towards our younger visitors, but everyone is welcome to listen! Come and hear stories about how YOU can help animals too! Story time will take place at our Guest Services building right next to the gift shop.
Planting Party 10am - 2pm
Join our Horticulturalist, Val, and help plant a BRAND NEW Children's Garden! Get your hands dirty as we plant new sensory garden beds with specially selected plants that will support our native pollinators and songbirds! Planting will take place between the Aviary and old penguin exhibit.
Upcycled Stuffed Animals for Sale 10am - 2pm
You’d be absolutely “batty” not to adopt one of our up-cycled stuffed bats! Proceeds from these adorable stuffed animals go directly to Bat Conservation International. Each bat is handmade by our team of volunteers from unused or damaged staff and event shirts. Buy your stuffed animal under the big tent in the center of the Zoo!
