Activism was central to Keith Haring’s artistic practice. This summer, the Walker is amplifying Haring’s message with a night of music, energy, and social activation. Though rooted in the pressing concerns of the 1980s, Haring’s commitment to justice, love, solidarity, and his queer community remains relevant today. In the spirit of Haring’s dedication to HIV/AIDS advocacy, local organizations will partner with the Walker to spread awareness and positivity; leaders in the field will provide both information and resources. A hi-fi dance party hosted by local DJs make this a rich evening dedicated to Haring and the impact of his work on and off the canvas. Please enjoy curated picnic snacks and libations from Cardamom, available for purchase on the hillside. Menus available upon request.
Galleries are open late and free on Thursday nights from 5 to 9 pm.
