About this Event
In every project or venture we embark upon in life, a certain amount of planning is necessary. This could be at home, amongst friends, in our communities and amongst colleagues at work.
We tend to move quickly into the tasks to be done to bring that project alive. Rarely do we make time to fully consider who might be impacted directly and indirectly by the project; and who else we might need to involve, when and in what ways.
Failure to consider and appropriately engage stakeholders in a timely fashion can lead to projects that falter or fail. The legacy of what could have been an amazing opportunity to bring people together and galvanise energy and talents, could instead, result in the breakdown of relationships, damaged reputations and the loss of trust that might take years to recover.
This training will open your eyes to the delights, possibilities and potential of timely stakeholder engagement. It will equip you to engage others, drawing upon crucially diverse experiences, knowledge and perspectives to enhance the likelihood of a successful venture of which you and your stakeholders can feel proud.
Come ready to work on an actual project or venture of your own.
Following an introduction, helping you to understand what underpins this learning encounter and the materials we use, you will learn how to apply the 'PAI + Participation Compass' to real-world scenarios. You will leave with resources that you can take away and apply easily in other scenarios.
Expect to work as a whole cohort, in small groups, and as individuals.
Be ready to gain insights that have the potential to change what you do, and how you do what you do.
Refreshments will be available at breaks and a light vegetarian lunch will be provided. If you have special dietary requirements, please bring what you need to take care of your wellbeing.
