About this Event
Park Street Riot is Nevada City’s home team and has earned a rabid following with their progressive approach to rock ‘n roll. The band has continually pushed the sonic edge since their formation in 2016. They have established themselves as one of the most dynamic, powerful and energetic bands to emerge from Gold Country.
With a cohesive and catchy blend of garage rock, psychedelia and early 2000’s alternative, Park Street Riot’s live show is incomparably heavy and compelling, laced throughout with the raw, emotional power of Walker’s natural rock tenor, as well as the melodic guitar playing of Ryan Donnelly and thunderous rhythmic foundation of Alex Scribner and Ryan Sheridan.
Lyrically, Walker confronts themes of loss, existential dread and small-town hedonism with an emotional rawness and wry wit that naturally expresses the many dualities present in our misunderstood human nature. In the current sea of cheap rock monotony, Park Street Riot’s music shines as a strange and exceptional jewel, bringing forth a realness and honesty representative of their own personal friendship and backwoods home.
Kicking off the night will be up-and-coming local outfit, Beach Noise. The members - Jonah Wells, Art Echternacht, Chris Streng and Nick Szwarc – are all well-known in the area from their work with many other bands. Together they conjure a fresh psych-rock sound delivered with a sense of urgency.
