About this Event
Celebrate the 20th anniversary of Park Serve Day at the Fells!
Difficulty: Moderate: Requires traversing rocky and unstable terrain while carrying tools and supplies.
Leader: Charlie McCabe
Starting Location: Greenwood Park, 176 Pond St, Stoneham
Volunteering Activity Description: There are a few culverts (pipes that channel water beneath a trail) that are clogged and in need of clearing and repair. We will clear the culverts and associated water channels to improve water flow and reduce flooding on the trails.
What to bring: Dress in layers as needed and be prepared for the weather, including several pairs of work gloves and a drink of your choice to stay hydrated. We'll bring shovels, rakes, and other tools, but if you have a favorite shovel, especially a drain spade or sharpshooter, please bring that.
Questions?: Please contact Charlie at [email protected].
Dogs: While we love experiencing the outdoors with our dogs, this program is not suitable for dogs. We ask that you please leave your furry friends home while attending this program.
