Postponed to Saturday, May 23, 2026, history buffs, community leaders, and preservationists will aid in the maintenance and restoration of numerous sites as part of Park Day, the American Battlefield Trust’s annual hands-on preservation event. Thousands of volunteers across the country will participate as Park Day celebrates its 30th year.Mabry-Hazen House will host a Park Day event from 10 am to 2 pm. Needs include mulching, removal of invasive plants, washing the historic house, planting flowers, preparing the garden beds, and general spring-cleaning. Some tools will be provided, but volunteers are encouraged to bring rakes, pitchforks, tarps, and similar yard tools.
Whether you have 1 hour or 4 hours available to volunteer, the museum could use your help!
Water and refreshments will be provided. We also will have a free Park Day bandana for the first 50 volunteers to join us!
Event will occur rain or shine.
WHAT: Park Day volunteer event at Mabry-Hazen House
WHEN: Saturday, April 25, 2026, beginning at 10 am and ends at 2 pm
WHERE: Meet at the parking lot of Mabry-Hazen House. It is navigable via Google Maps if you search “Mabry-Hazen House Parking” or use the address 1690 Rosedale Ave. If you are approaching the site from Dandridge Ave. heading east, you will see signs for parking on your right. Rosedale Ave. is located between Morningside Community Center and Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
