Adult Learning Workshops can be bland, with lots of the same information recycled in different ways. Brooklyn-based Special Educator, Vanessa Ramos, designs Grown-up Gatherings with grown-ups in mind. Join us for a BYOB POP-UP Parent/Educator Learning Workshop covering the ever-frustrating topic of: “Problem-Solving and Limit Setting with Young Children.”

In this workshop, Vanessa breaks down common early childhood scenarios parents and teachers face everyday, guiding grown-ups to reframe their interpretations, impressions, self-talk, and overall responses and reactions with children. By understanding the why, we can rethink the how - and ultimately be more thoughtful and intentional on the what and when! Vanessa's unique humor-centered approach to early childhood frustration-discussions, is a refreshing take to helping parents laugh (while they’re also, sorta, crying too).

Vanessa is the founder of The Uninterrupted Child LLC, crafting and hosting originally designed Social Skills Groups, Parent/Educator Workshops, and Family Coaching in Brooklyn. Vanessa holds dual MS degrees and certifications in Early Childhood and Special Education, studying and presenting in Jonkoping, Sweden on the power of Uninterrupted Play, Forest School Education, and the compassion-fueled Swedish Educare System. Vanessa’s experience is a blend of family partnership, inclusive classrooms, and whole-school leadership. She’s co-run a parent cooperative preschool in Boerum Hill, built-in outdoor all-weather nature classrooms in the Lower East Side, and provides early intervention play-therapies and behavioral coaching for autistic children and their families. Vanessa brings a vast knowledge of sensory integration and social practice: her commitment to authentic, early development is attributed to her extensive work with special needs children and their families within Bank Street's inclusion program and beyond.

*In addition to her Loose Parts POP-UP Workshops, Vanessa is thrilled to begin partnering with Playwell this Summer 2024 to launch Social Skill Groups in the Gowanus area. Inquire for upcoming dates and times or reach out to build custom cohorts ages 3-7.
