Join Celebrity Pastry Chef Dawn of Ravy Cakes LLC for a creative and fun fulfilled and Father's Day Cake Decorating Class.
In this fun, hands-on class, you and your child will work side-by-side to create a charming buttercream cake featuring a stylish fondant tie—custom designed just for Dad. Guided step-by-step, you'll learn how to build and stack your cake, achieve a smooth final buttercream finish, buttercream piping, and bring your design to life with fondant techniques.
Each pair will design their own unique tie, adding personal flair and meaning to their cake—perfect for celebrating the father figure in your life.
Whether you're making memories, learning new skills, or simply enjoying quality time together, this class is the perfect way to create something special (and delicious!) for Father’s Day.
This class is all about creativity, bonding, and having fun in a relaxed, supportive environment. No experience needed—just bring your imagination and a sweet tooth!
Perfect for beginners and young bakers, this hands-on experience will leave you with new skills, big smiles, and a delicious cake to take home and enjoy together.
All tools are provided for use during class and each team will receive a cake box to take their cake home.

Meet Your Instructor:
Dawn Alston of Ravy Cakes, a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native, grew up in Northern Virginia where she started baking at the age of six. Dawn holds an Associates Degree in Culinary Arts and has competed in many local baking events and in 2018 she competed on Food Network’s Wedding Cake Championship. All The Details:
- Age Level: 5+ with a parent/adult
- Skill Level: Beginner
- Each ticket includes 1 adult and 1 child. If you wish to bring more than 1 child to the class, there will be an additional charge of $100. Your 2nd child will receive their own cake so you will go home with 2 cakes. Please contact Fran's directly to purchase your ticket to ensure we can accommodate an additional child.
- All supplies and tools are provided for use during class.
- We will provide a box for each team to take your cake home in
- The class may be a little messy so we recommend bringing an apron.
- If you have long hair, you may want to tie it back.
- Class requires a minimum of 2 teams and there is a maximum of 8 teams. In the event of insufficient enrollment, you will receive a full refund.
- Class will run approximately 2.5 hours. Please note that the class is hands-on and may run over or under schedule.
Cancellation Policy:
Changes and cancellations...we know life happens so we try our best to be flexible while being fair to our instructors who purchase supplies and bake for each student. Full refunds or credits are available for cancellations made at least 5 days prior to the class. If you need to cancel after 5 days but at least 48 hours in advance, we can offer you a credit for a future class. We cannot offer any credits for cancellations within 48 hours of the scheduled class.
