Parent & Child Class - Make a Nesting Box (Age 10+)
Come join us at Wood Saints - The Wood Depot for a fun and interactive workshop where you and your child can bond while building a nesting box together! This hands-on class is perfect for kids aged 10 and above to learn woodworking skills in a safe environment. Get ready to unleash your creativity and construct a beautiful nesting box that you can take home and enjoy with your feathered friends. Using reclaimed timber, collected by ASAN Wood Saints, our workshop manager will walk you through the steps to crafting your very own project. You'll learn how to measure and cut wood accurately and safely; as well as sanding, drilling and sawing.
Workshop Tools To Be Used:
Chop/ Mitre saw - Adults only! Cut wood at various angles.
Drill driver - Pilot holes & fixing screws.
Palm sander - Versatile sanding
Participating in the class will build your confidence to use a range of woodworking tools and techniques, while making your very own tree.
All tools, equipment and materials will be provided on the day.
Please arrive 15 mins before the class begins. There will also be a 30 minute break during the session for lunch or refreshments.

Do I need any experience prior to the class?
No prior wood working experience is necessary, all health and safety will be taught by our experienced technician.
Are there ID or minimum age requirements for this class?
The class is for people aged 10+. Under 18's to be accompanied by an adult.
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Car parking spaces in the Wood Depot are free but limited to around 8 cars. Alternatively you can park in nearby streets free of charge. Public transport links are nearby, and the venue is accessible on foot from the nearby Metro Birmingham to Wolverhampton Tram Line (see https://woodsaints.com/about/find-us/ for more information,)
How accessible is the venue?
The workshop is located on the ground floor which provides full accessibility to the premises including toilet provisions. We would advise wheelchair users to contact us to arrange a parking bay.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
A register will be taken at the workshop, it isn't necessary to print your ticket.
The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?
Please bring along a print out of your ticket if the registration does not match the attendee.
What can I bring into the event?
There will be a 30 minute break during the session. Please bring along your own food if required. Tea, Coffee and biscuits will be provided FOC. All materials will be provided for the class.
What should I wear?
Wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty or dusty. Closed-toe shoes are required. Long hair must be tied back and jewellery and any loose items such as scarves will need to be removed or tucked away prior to the class starting. These rules are for your safety and must be followed.

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?
If you find that you cannot attend, then you are welcome to pass your place on to a friend who may find it useful. Please let the organiser know if you need to do this.
Can I get a refund for my ticket?
Refunds will be offered in the event of the event being cancelled or alternative dates will be offered. Refunds can be offered up to 14 days before the workshop.
