racial trauma because of their skin colour.
About this Event

Come and journey with us through time via the medium of the SUCOTETO Wreath and Flower to see how a nation of people was stolen from their land and brought to a land they knew, nor did they understand the tongue or why they were even there. Many did not survive the Trans-Atlantic journey. Others did not want to reach the shore. Those who did survive were enslaved, dehumanised, exploited and even murdered. This journey is not about love and compassion but one of lives ruined for economics and profit, derived from cultivated products of sugar, cotton, cocoa, coffee, tea, and tobacco, which we all love and enjoy today. The journey also involves the migration of thought from the plantation and parlour to a new worldwide paradigm shift in thinking where chattel slavery is now trading under a different framework called 'Skin-ism' aka 'Racism' a term handed down from generation to generation, to maintain the status quo of those who still deem themselves better than others because of their skin colour. The journey will look at abolitionists, activists, people of courage who fought in the two world wars, the Windrush generation, and other unsung heroes. The journey is to bring about restoration, healing, and change while symbolically and peacefully supporting those still suffering because of 'Skinism' to all love the skin they were created with as we are all One Blood, One Race, One People.
