Join us for an evening with Dr. Amy-Jill Levine as she explores Jesus’ parables in their original Jewish context. The parables challenge, provoke, and inspire — often in humorous and surprising ways. By hearing stories like the “Good Samaritan,” the “Prodigal Son,” and the “Pearl of Great Price” through first-century Jewish ears, we may discover fresh meaning for today. This evening talk will include time for questions.
This event is free and open to the public. All events are hosted by First United Methodist Church in partnership with the Oshkosh Circuit of UMC churches and the SL Brown Foundation.
