Come learn about quilling! An intricate paper strip artform originally used to imitate expensive and rare metal filigree around the 1400s, quilling came into popularity in the Edwardian and Victorian Eras.In this single, standalone class, you will gain experience with the basics of this delicate paper craft. Expect to leave the class having begun a beautiful unicorn!
In this class, we will be celebrating unicorns for Unicorn day, occurring every year on April 9th! We will use basic quilling techniques to create our own magical equines.
In the class we will cover the basics of quilling including:
• Quilling tools
• Choosing paper
• Traditional techniques
• Glue application
Required Skills/Knowledge: No prior experience necessary.
Age Requirement: This skill and class is ideal for adults and kids 14+.
Materials: All materials will be provided and are included in the class cost. Communal supplies will also be provided for use during class.
Materials provided:
• 1 slotted quilling tool
• Quilling paper
Homework: Due to the nature of quilling, projects can take some time to complete. Expect to complete your scene after class.
