About Anson Ng
Anson Ng is a Toronto-based landscape painter whose en plein air practice explores the intersections of Canadian wilderness and Chinatown. Rooted in his own experience growing up between his family's restaurant in Toronto's Chinatown and camping through Ontario, his work treats diasporic and natural landscapes as inseparable parts of the greater Canadian landscape. You can often find him painting outdoors on location across seasons and changing weather.
His work is on display at Billy Bishop Airport and was the subject of , a short documentary about his practice. As a dedicated community arts facilitator, Anson believes that everyone is an artist and he's bringing that spirit to this workshop, creating a space where we can slow down, make something beautiful, and connect with one another.
