About this Event

Cosy crime at its very best. Discover how bestselling authors write murders that won’t give you nightmares and stories where the pages seem to turn themselves. But when is crime, cosy? Join Jamie West (M**der at the Matinee), Tom Hindle (A Killer in Paradise), and Greg Mosse (the Maisie Cooper series) for an insightful conversation as they explore the gentle art of cosy crime.

Doors open at 4pm, talk starts at 4.30pm.

, originally hailing from Leeds, now lives in Oxfordshire with his wife and daughter, an overly opinionated cat and two surprisingly cunning tortoises. He is the author of A Fatal Crossing, Tom’s hugely successful debut novel which was a Waterstones Thriller of the Month. He is also the author of The M**der Game, a Waterstones Paperback of the Year in 2023. M**der on Lake Garda and Death in the Arctic are Tom’s most recent, and Sunday Times bestselling, novels. His writing is inspired by masters of the crime genre such as Agatha Christie and Anthony Horowitz.

two loves, theatre and a good M**der mystery, is what has inspired his Bertie Carroll series set in 1930s theatreland. Death on the Pier introduces the M**der mystery playwright turned real-life detective and the eagerly anticipated second book in the series M**der at the Matinee was shortlisted for The Crime Writers’ Association Whodunnit Dagger Award in 2025. He continues to split his time between writing and working in the theatre.

first career was in theatre as actor, director and writer. He has lived and worked in Paris, New York, Los Angeles and Madrid. Having worked as an interpreter at a variety of international institutions, in 2015 Greg returned to theatre. Since then, he has written and produced 25 plays and musicals. He took advantage of 2020’s lockdown to fulfil a long-term ambition to write a powerful thriller, and the trilogy was the result.
