About this Event
In partnership with Matthew Bourne's New Adventures, Farnham Maltings and Farnham Town Council, Surrey Libraries are excited to be delivering an LGBTQ+ community event double bill for the second year! Taking place at Farnham Library in March 2026 during the Farnham Literary Festival, you will experience an original LGBTQ+ community movement piece and an author talk about the experience of telling LGBTQ+ stories.
This year's focus is themes explored in New Adventure's current touring show of The Red Shoes. LGBTQ+ adults (18+) who live or work in Surrey have been offered the opportunity be part of the creation and performance of this original movement performance.
The performance will be followed by a talk by Stephen Daly, an up and coming writer from a working-class community who is interested in writing about the social and cultural issues young people experience. His debut young adult novel will be published in April 2026.
The performance will be at 12noon followed by the author talk at approximately 12:45pm.
