About this Event
Batuki and Ruth Williams Opera House Present: "Palm and Sole" a music and dance conference. A full day of immersive exploration of community and culture in the heart of the Bay view district of San Francisco. The conference will include world renowned master artists facilitating music and dance workshops, a community zone of vendors, food and crafts, kids activities, local hairstylists, and body workers. Experience the rich and valuable traditions of the Afro-Latin diaspora and the San Francisco Bay Area.

Bateria Batuki is a dynamic music group featuring Brazilian percussion, melodic instruments and vocalists based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Inspired by Brazilian rhythms but incorporating styles ranging from such backgrounds as Afro-Caribbean, Hip Hop and Funk music.
An artistic collective made up of teaching artists, cultural ambassadors and community
workers. Batuki formed in 2020 in response to the pandemic, holding outdoor rehearsals throughout the Bay Area in order to provide free performances and community engagement rooted in activism, culture and healing.
Batuki allows us to further fortify these relationships making sure our culture, our communities and we as individuals thrive.
