About this Event
So often does our purpose for living come into question! Death must happen and it will. For what purpose are we led to it? Why must we exist as each of our identities if we must die? How has death, both metaphorically and physically, impacted our lives? How has death helped us to appreciate Life more? Or has it done the opposite?
These questions would spark a different answer from everyone. Join us for open discussion about Death. Let's explore our dynamic of living and dying at our monthly Death Cafes!
Momento Mori, Momento Vivere!
Death Cafe is a discussion group format that originated in the UK. As the format requires, the topic is open, just focused on death. There are no guest speakers for this. Simply come as you are and talk about death. This is intended to make people more comfortable with talking about the inevitable, confront their mortality and appreciate their lives more. If you aren't sure what to say, that's alright! We'll play a game with death related questions.
We do not discuss politics and the topic must stay on the subject of death. If you are uncomfortable with talking about death but want to safely confront a fear of mortality, you are welcome here, but if you think talking about death is "bad", "too dark", "too evil", or invites "bad energy" into your life, this is NOT the place for you. We are open to talking about the esoteric and the occult, however the subject needs to stay on the topic of death without referencing politics or conspiracy theories. We don't cast death hexes, nor is this group about wanting to die or wanting others to.
If you are looking for a place to discuss your recent experiences with death (loss of a loved one, corruption in the death industry, a personal near death experience), you are welcome here.
That said it's important to be clear that this is not a bereavement support group and we are not clinically trained to provide bereavement support or grief counseling.

*Unethical practices in the death industry
*End of life care
