Learn how to become a valuable member of the palliative care team in Lethbridge and the surrounding area through the Alberta Hospice Palliative Care Association (AHPCA) Roadshow. This no-cost, two-day, in-person training is based on the Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association Volunteer Training Program, which is recognized across Canada. The program helps volunteers, caregivers, and community members gain the confidence and practical knowledge needed to provide compassionate support in many settings, including hospice, care centres, and private homes.
This training is hosted locally by the Guided Journeys Foundation, a Lethbridge-based registered non-profit charitable organization dedicated to improving hospice and palliative care in Southern Alberta.
Guided Journeys is currently working to build the first standalone residential hospice and palliative care home in Lethbridge. The future hospice will provide compassionate end-of-life care in a peaceful, home-like environment where individuals with life-limiting illnesses can spend their final days with dignity, comfort, and support, surrounded by loved ones.
By hosting this training in partnership with the AHPCA, Guided Journeys is helping strengthen the compassionate care network in our region by supporting education, volunteer development, and community awareness around hospice and palliative care.
Participants who attend both days will receive a Certificate of Completion.
