To define what is Palliative Care and End of Life Care
To identify those patients approaching the end of life and plan ahead
To recognise common symptoms and their management
To increase awareness of identification / prognostication / phases of illness / illness trajectories
To understand ‘what is a good death’- last weeks to days
To understand what Advance Care Planning (ACP) is and the benefits
To describe how the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) relates to ACP
To identify how to communicate ACP with patients and families and recognise common barriers
To focus on the importance of care after death
