On Sunday, 8th December, the streets of Papamoa will transform into a superhero wonderland as the Official Santa Parade returns, bigger, bolder, and bursting with true Papamoa spirit! It’s time to celebrate our incredible community, bring smiles to over 20,000 people, and make memories to last a lifetime.
Event Highlights
🦸♂️ A Superhero Showcase: From capes to masks, join the super squad as local businesses, schools, and groups bring their A-game with creative floats, costumes, and characters. Celebrate Papamoa’s hometown heroes while enjoying a fun-filled day.
🎉 A Decade of Heroes: Thanks to Pak'N Save Papamoa for their 10-year partnership with our not-for-profit Papamoa Unlimited, keeping this cherished tradition alive and thriving!
🎅 The Big Finale: The Big Man in Red himself will swoop into Papamoa Plaza around 12:30 PM, ready to spread cheer and meet the little ones in the magical Santa Grotto.
Parade Details
📍 Start Location: Dickson Rd, beginning at Alexander Place
🕥 Kick-Off Time: 10:30 AM
📍 Route: Dickson Rd → Domain Rd → Papamoa Plaza
🎅 Santa’s Arrival: By 12:30ish, Santa lands at the Plaza for festive fun and photos in the grotto.
👨👩👧👦 Parents, We Need Your Help! This parade is a cherished community tradition, but we can’t do it without you! To ensure this event remains safe and incredible for all:
🚫 Keep children off the road at all times.
❌ Do not cross the roads along the parade trail, especially around the Papamoa Plaza area.
🤝 Be kind to our team—we are a group of volunteers working hard to bring you an amazing day.
Your support is vital to keeping our children safe and the event running smoothly. Together, we can make this day magical!
Important Notices🚦
Traffic Management:
Street Closures: Roads along the parade route will be closed from 9:00 AM, reopening as the parade moves through.
Fencing: Businesses near the Plaza, fencing will be in place from 5:00 AM.
🚌 Bus Changes: Tauranga City buses will operate amended schedules. Be sure to check their website for updates.
