Painting Resistance: Native Stories on the Great Wall
The California Native Vote Project (CNVP) is partnering with the Social and Public Art Resource Center (SPARC) and Deitch Gallery to highlight Judy Baca’s Great Wall of Los Angeles: The 1970s — A Decade of Defiance and Dreams mural while exploring the Native American movement history and activism represented in the new mural section, which begins with the Occupation of Alcatraz and situates the American Indian Movement within the broader political landscape of the 1970s.
