About this Event

Join us for a series of outdoor plein air painting workshops in the Humanities Wing Patio overlooking the Valley Land Trail presented in partnership with ARTSIDEOUT and the Urban Just Transitions Cluster at the University of Toronto Scarborough. Participants will meet with local artists, Frannie Potts and Sylvie Stojanovski, to explore a wide range of different watercolour techniques (including: wash, wet into wet, and drybrush) and create a painting of their own that reflects their surroundings and hopes for the future.

This program is free, and all are welcome! No previous art-making experience is required. Supplies will be provided. Feel free to bring your own blanket, pillow or foldable chair to sit on. Please dress for the weather, wear good walking shoes, bring a waterbottle and apply sunscreen.

  2. Focus on sky (background) and trees (mid-ground)
  3. Focus on urban elements (fences, buildings, people)
