Painting Atmospheric Perspective in Watercolor
$55 each class or $70 each class with all supplies
Join us for a four-week watercolor journey exploring the beauty of mountains and rivers while developing your skills in perspective and depth. Each week, you’ll learn techniques to bring vast landscapes to life—layer by layer—using washes, texture, and compositional strategies. Perfect for beginner to intermediate painters eager to strengthen their understanding of perspective in watercolor.
Week 1: Wednesday, February 4th 12-3 PM
Atmospheric Perspective & Distant Mountains: Capture the sense of space in a landscape by painting soft, faraway mountains as you create the illusion of distance with color washes and blending.
Week 2: Wednesday, February 11th 12-3 PM
This week we’ll shift our focus to the mid-ground & river edges. Practice shaping rolling hills, layering tree lines, & using value shifts to create believable depth & movement in the landscape.
Week 3: Wednesday, February 18 12-3 PM
Reflections, Rocks, Trees & Flowing Water:s. Explore techniques for painting rocks, foliage, and reflections, and study how flowing water interacts with perspective in landscapes.
Week 4: Wednesday, February 25 12-3 PM
This week, you will paint a dynamic mountain and river landscape of your own design that showcases your growth in this series by combining everything you’ve learned into a bold mountain-and-river painting.
