About this Event
Join Us for a Painting Afternoon!
Are you caring for a young person with additional needs and are craving time just to "be" and to not be responsible for anything? If you have been battling the school for extra support, ESBA understanding, EHCP adherence, LA arguments or are tired of other parents not understanding; maybe you are advocating, waking up with a feeling of dread and have compassion fatigue? Perhaps you are neurodiverse yourself and social anxiety prevents you from joining groups. This afternoon is for you.
Claire Deacon is a SEN parent, autistic, a psychological coach and amateur artist. She creates a relaxed, low social demand environment for you to just play; mess about with paint, stencils and crayons.
You don't need any prior experience of painting or art and you don't need to be sociable if you don't want to. The idea is that we all understand what it is like and, therefore, fun and freedom for us doesn't necessarily mean small talk, explaining or justifying. Just 4 spaces.
