Paint Your Own Retro Nintendo Wood Art | Date Night & Family Workshop

Join us at Whaling City Masterworks inside the Kilburn Mill for a fun, beginner-friendly painting workshop where you'll create your own retro 8-bit Nintendo-style artwork.

Each participant will receive a pre-cut wooden pixel art piece designed in the classic 8-bit style. The grid and pixel lines are already prepared — all you have to do is paint the squares to bring the character to life.

No painting experience is required. We'll guide you step-by-step and help you match the colors so your character comes out looking great.

After you purchase your ticket, you'll select which character design you'd like to paint (I will provide you with the preselected options).

Before the workshop we will prepare your piece and provide a printed pixel reference guide so you can easily follow the color pattern while painting.

During the workshop you’ll paint each square of the design until your character is complete.

Angela from Whaling City Masterworks will lead the workshop, with assistance from the shop team.

Length: Approximately 3 hours

All materials are included:
• Pre-cut wooden pixel art piece
• Acrylic paints
• Brushes
• Reference guide
• Instruction and assistance

After the workshop, your piece will stay with us so we can apply a protective polyurethane finish. This helps protect the paint and gives your artwork a polished look.

Finished pieces will be ready for pickup about 3 days after the event.
