Gondola in Venice
Monet fell in love with Venice when he was 68 years young. He painted over 30 paintings of the Grand Canal and this one is my favourites. Something about the dark warm shadows in the foreground juxtaposed against a veil of soft cool light in the background creates harmony and contrast that makes this one stand out.
