Artist David ‘DJ’ Johnson is well known for his stunning plein air paintings – he is an adventurer who likes to climb mountains and paint extraordinary landscapes.
This workshop involves exploring the bold, energetic and painterly style of Vincent Van Gogh. You will learn how to paint expressively using thick paint applied generously, and how to play with the vibrant bold colours he sometimes favoured. DJ will supply reference images and will also bring along some of his own paintings to show you! This workshop will be taught through a series of demonstrations and one to one tuition. You will study and play with colour, light, tonal values and textures, allowing for individual creative expression.
