Join us for a fun and creative day at our Abstract and Mixed Media Workshop! Whether you're an experienced artist or just a beginner, this in-person event is perfect for unleashing your creativity. Our workshop offers a relaxed and inspiring atmosphere to explore the world of abstract and to start thinking about different mixed media techniques. For workshops held in Shepherds bush the venue allow food, snacks and non-alcoholic drinks.

I want to help you jumpstart something I strongly think you might love while at the same time helping you dust of that paint brush you left behind from school inorder to get more creative this year.

No previous experience is needed for this London painting workshop as it's perfect for anyone who just wants to get creative and unwind after a busy work week. Please note this is a guided class but you can choose to follow along for as much or as little as you want to. You can also choose to keep your entire painting completely abstract.

This technique is very loose and freeing and you get to create a very beautiful mess and abstract then pull certain parts out to create something a bit more recognisable. This can be a person, animal, place or even a thing. It's up to you and I'll be there to guide you. At the end of the class, you'll get to take home your own creation.

Attendees will get:

• Selection of art materials to choose from
• Your own artwork to take home, frame or give as a gift to a friend
• Brushes, Paints and canvas are all provided

Attendees should bring:

• An open mind! You may end up surprising yourself. You're going to have fun!
• A selection of simple images to combine for your final piece or we can both decide on the day.

Session Breakdown

First part of the session

• We have fun and warm up with a bit of mark-making
• Trying to come up with different ways to lay down paint
• Your Colour Palette - What colours speak to you?
• We explore colours, create abstract backgrounds and then pull an image out of it. I will provide the image in the first session and demonstrate my technique. I will do a step by step follow along demonstration of chosen image.

Second Part of the session:

You come up with your own design, you can use or combine different references or combination of references to help give you ideas and to inspire your final work. I will highly suggest you don't copy the image but interpret it better yet take what you like from that image or images and make them your own. Things to think about when choosing your images are:

- What photo references are you drawn to?

- What parts of the image do you like and can possible copy over into your work.
