About this Event
Paint a Masterpiece
A relaxed guided painting evening at Stephanie Fuller Gallery
Have you ever wished you could paint a beautiful artwork but felt held back because you “can’t draw”?
In this class the hardest part is already done for you.
Choose your favourite painting from a selection of well known museum artworks. I will lightly sketch the composition onto your canvas so you can focus entirely on colour, brushwork and learning how paintings actually come together.
Over 2 hours you will be guided step by step through the process used by artists to build a painting — from blocking in shapes to mixing colour and adding light.
This is not about copying perfectly.
It is about understanding how paintings work and discovering that you can paint.
You will leave with a finished artwork you will genuinely want to hang at home.
What you’ll learn
• How artists simplify complex images
• Colour mixing without mud
• Brush techniques for light, shadow and texture
• How to make a painting feel alive rather than flat
• Confidence to continue painting afterwards

Why Create in an Artist’s Studio? 🎨✨
An artist’s studio is more than just a space—it’s a sanctuary for creativity, exploration, and inspiration. It’s where ideas flow, brushes dance across canvases, and experimentation happens without judgment. Working in an artist’s studio allows you to immerse yourself in an atmosphere steeped in artistic energy, away from the distractions of everyday life.
Take, for instance, Matisse’s famous Red Studio (as pictured above). The painting is a masterpiece that gives us a glimpse into Matisse’s personal creative world. It celebrates the raw, unfiltered essence of the artist’s workspace: the scattered tools, half-finished artworks, and the vibrant energy that fuels the creative process.
In my studio, you’ll find that same essence—a space to let go of limitations, embrace your individuality, and explore your artistic voice. Surrounded by art materials, inspiring books, and carefully curated objects, you’ll have everything you need to create your own masterpiece.
Why not come and experience the magic of creating in a dedicated studio space? Whether you’re new to art or looking to deepen your practice, working in a professional artist’s environment can inspire and transform your approach to creativity.
