This workshop is led by professional wildlife artist Rosie Smith, whose popular Half Hidden collection has sold through multiple galleries and is known for its atmosphere, texture and character. Participants will be guided through the techniques Rosie uses to create these soft, partially revealed animal portraits full of mood and presence.
During the session, you will learn how to:
Work confidently in alla prima oils
Create depth and atmosphere using light and shadow
Keep brushwork loose, expressive and full of life
Suggest detail without overworking the painting
Build character and focus in an animal portrait
