Transform an ordinary green field into a vibrant landscape bursting with wildflowers. In this uplifting pastel workshop, Kris Woodward will show you how to use creative pastel techniques to bring movement, color, and atmosphere to your work. You’ll explore how to create soft‑focus flowers in the distance as part of a wider landscape, then shift to bold, up‑close blooms in the foreground. Kris will guide you in using perspective, layering, and expressive mark‑making to build depth and visual interest. You’ll even “play Mother Nature,” repositioning flowers to enhance your composition and strengthen your storytelling.
This is the perfect opportunity to use your favorite tulip or garden photos — letting the colors drift across the surface in light, airy strokes. Allow the hues to blur together like a breeze moving through the field, holding onto the moment just a little longer. Kris will demonstrate soft‑focus techniques and offer individual support as you create your own floral masterpiece.

Our courses are typically held in the lower level of Arlene's. Because access to the lower level is available only by stair, please let us know if using the stairs presents any difficulty for you in advance of the class so we can make alternate arrangements.
