What a spectacle it was when CLIFFHANGER came out. The epic stunts and the special effects were a marvel to see. It elated audiences and even became the inspiration for a roller coaster. The film checked so many boxes – a primed and committed Sylvester Stallone performing excellent action, Janine Turner and her older-Hollywood demeanour and looks, John Lithgow as a larger-than-life villain. It was something to behold on the big screen, where you felt like you were right in the action. The crowds weren't at the edge of a cliff, but they were certainly thrilled to the edge of their seats.
