About this Event
is a non-profit organization dedicated to caring for He’eia Fishpond – an ancient Hawaiian fishpond located in He’eia, Ko’olaupoko, O’ahu.
The day begins at 8:30 am and ends at 12pm with lunch provided by the Paepae o Heʻeia staff. Please plan to arrive at 8:00 am, the opening circle and welcome begins at 8:30 am.
Work available is appropriate for ages 12 and up. Tasks include moving rock and coral, filling buckets, hauling floating barges through the water, cutting/pulling out invasive mangrove, invasive limu removal, trash pickup, and reconstruction of the kuapā.
Please bring the following items to the workday:
- Covered Shoes or Tabis (mandatory to participate)
- Clothes you don’t mind getting dirty
- Reef-friendly sunscreen
- Refillable water bottle
- Mess kit: a bowl and utensil
- Optional: Hat, Towel, Change of Clothes
