Please note this is a blended course - candidates must complete part 1 online (6 hours) before attending day 2 (6 hours)
Understanding the role and responsibilities of a paediatric first aider

Conducting a scene survey and primary survey

Providing first aid to both responsive and unresponsive child and infant casualties, including CPR, recovery position, seizure management and using an AED

Providing first aid to a casualty who is choking - infant and child

Providing first aid to a casualty with external bleeding (high risk (life threatening bleeding) can be taught upon request)

Recognising and treating shock, meningitis, sepsis

Treating a casualty with paediatric injuries including - small cuts, fractures, sprains & strains
