2021 TWP Earth Event, our second annual #Paddle4Plastics.

2020 CHCH News coverage here:

On June 12th, a safe number of participants/eco-warriors will complete a 7km canoe loop around the Toronto Islands to collect waste/shoreline plastics. Guided by TWP founders Niki Cesta and Savannah Stephen, participants will learn about the science behind the waste crisis, as well as creative and practical ways to mitigate their environmental impact.
#Paddle4Plastics is currently at maximum participant capacity according to Ontario safety guidelines. Should regulations change, we will open up enrollment once again. If you would like to passively support our #Paddle4Plastics efforts, you can purchase a $5 raffle ticket for the chance to win a $350 CAD Level Six Gift Card where the proceeds go to TWP 2021 Earth Events. Enter for a chance to win by heading over to https://levelsix.ca/blogs/blog/win-an-350-gift-card-support-the-wasteland-plans-paddle4plastics to purchase an unlimited number of tickets.
On the day of #Paddle4Plastics, @the.wasteland.plan will virtually announce the winner and go live on IG for a portion of the Event in order to share the experience with our passive supporters.
Deep gratitude for Level Six and their ongoing commitment to conserving water sheds and the water sport communities that serve to protect them. Every year, Level Six donates 1% of their direct retail sales to various watershed conservation organizations across North America. We are beyond grateful to be a part of the communities that are receiving support from LS!
Level Six is incredibly conscious and aware when it comes to minimizes single use plastic packaging. Where possible LS uses 100% recycled cardboard, starch based compostable bags for individually wrapped items, single bag liners for bulk shipments, and rolled clothing items tied with twine. It is their perpetual goal to mitigate impact on our natural environment and lead the water sports industry towards a brighter and more environmentally sustainable future! Thank you LS for your ongoing efforts and dedication to our natural world.
Thank you to our partners and supporters: KWU Creative, Harbourfront Canoe & Kayak Centre, Breathing in Nature, Level Six, Village Juicery, Knuckle Sandwich, Animal Liberation Kitchen, Kind Grinds Coffee, One Piece a Day, Beach Relief, and Suppli.
