Explore the many ways wooden paddles are crafted, then create your own laminated, bent‑shaft, or straight‑shaft paddle! We provide the wood—harvested right from the Saint John’s Abbey Arboretum.
On May 1, (6–8 p.m.), you’ll glue up the blade, shaft, and grip.
On May 2 (9 a.m.–3 p.m.), we’ll shape and sand each paddle together.
After the workshop, you’ll complete the final steps at home—finishing the sanding and applying varnish to prepare your paddle for its aquatic adventures!
