Your sea kayaking journey with Paddle Canada starts here!The Paddle Canada Basic Kayak Skills Course is a comprehensive 8 hour introduction to flatwater and sea kayaking taught by accredited Paddle Canada Instructors.
This course serves as your starting point for Paddle Canada's National Sea Kayak Program and focuses on foundational skills & knowledge.
You will also learn essential safety skills such as how to capsize with a spray-skirt and how to re-enter your kayak with assistance while on the water.
Successful participants achieve a nationally recognized certification and the confidence, knowledge and skills to safely go out on paddling excursions in calm and sheltered waters.
This course includes all equipment and safety gear (Dagger Stratos 14.5 Sea Kayak, Paddle, Sprayskirt, PFD, Pea-less Whistle, Manual Bilge Pump, 15m Buoyant Heaving Line).
