Community Planting Day – Pacific Parade Coastal Reserve, Army BayJoin us for a community planting day at Pacific Parade Coastal Reserve and help continue the amazing transformation of this special coastal site.
What was once a W**d-infested and debris-strewn area is now being restored by a dedicated local community group. Over the past year, volunteers have removed large wattles and other pest plants, cleared debris, and planted hundreds of native plants.
This year, we’ll be adding even more natives to help create habitat for local wildlife and support the rare native species found nearby at Shakespear Regional Park. Excitingly, tīeke/saddleback have already been heard at Pacific Parade — a wonderful sign of what’s possible when we restore and connect habitats.
Everyone is welcome — bring your whānau, friends and neighbours and help make a difference.

What to bring:
Gardening gloves, water bottle, snacks, raincoat, sturdy shoes or gumboots, and a clean spade if you have one.
Tools and guidance will be provided. No experience needed.
