About this Event
Oyster Masterclass with Whitney Otawka
Get hands-on with one of the coast’s great ingredients in an immersive oyster experience led by Chef Whitney Otawka. This class begins with a shucking lesson, then plenty of practice as you work through a comparative tasting of oysters from near and far.
You’ll learn how region, water, and growing method shape flavor, explore oyster culture across the country, and discover multiple ways to prepare them—from raw and roasted to fried and simmered into chowder. We’ll also experiment with classic condiments and finishing touches along the way.
Come hungry. You’ll enjoy approximately two dozen oysters and taste 4–5 different varieties throughout the class.
